Darn!
I shouldn't have looked at those familiar airial photos of Pepperell.
Now I'm going to be thinking about it for the rest of this
sunny 90 degree day while I sit at my desk, and my rig sits in
the closet. Cool site.

I
did my first Tandem jump yesterday(Sunday June 8, 1997)
If I meet
God today, I will only ask him to put me back in yesterday. Yes
it was the most beautiful thing I have ever done in my life. I
don't thing there is anything else in the world better than jumping
from 12,000 feet. Now I know why the birds fly.
I can't even
describe my feelings.
We were only three people in the Airplane.
When the instructer opned the door. OHH MY GOD! After falling like
rock for about 50 seconds, I said it loud. I wanna come back nowwwww.
But
ofcourse it costs a lot of money. From now on, I am going
to work hard to make a lot of money and do it agian and again
and agian. I am gonna go all the way............Certified! I
am sure the day will come and I will be the instructor for skydiving.

This

limit to sky dive?

Michelle,
Way
to go!!! Welcome to the sport! Are you going to do
another tandem next time? You may want to consider AFF which is
where you are wearing the chute and pull your own ripcord. Another
EXTREME and EXCITING experience!!
Blue Skies!

About
a year and a half before my 18th birthday I saw an advertisment
on our local Santa Cruz Channel about skydiving. It used to
come on all the time. And every time I would watch it, the more
I would want to do it. So I decided that I was going the weekend
of my birthday and not a day later. I invited some of my friends
but ofcourse they chickened out on me. But I was still going.
Nothing was going to stop me and I didn't even know what drove me
to do it. However, my step-dad ended up going with me since he
is in to that kind of stuff. Finally the day of the jump rolls
around. We get in the car and drive out to Hollister. I'm sitting
in the car waiting for the nervousness to hit me all at once and
feel all those butterfly's flying frantically in my stomach.
We get to the place and they tell us to sign all of these papers
saying you might die. They weren't subtle about it at all. You
know just the thing you want to hear before you jump out of an airplane
at 15,000 ft. We were going to jump from 18,000 ft. but for
some reason they weren't flying that high that day. For me the
nervousness never came which was really hard to understand, because
I get nervous about everything. After the papers were signed
we had about an hour and a half wait until it was our turn. In
the meantime we went to our briefing which was only about 15 minutes
long. We got all of our gear on and went out to where the plane
would pick us up. Then, the funniest thing was brought to my
attention. I had to go to the bathroom. Thank God it passed.
The lady then tells us who our jump masters were and reviewed everything
with us again. Then they tell us it's time to go, so we
all load into the plane and take off. I also payed for a guy to
video my jump so I would have something to remember it by and maybe
to have proof that I did it. When we got up to 15,000 ft. my
step-dad jumped first, then I stepped to the edge of the door.
The wind blew by my face as I looked down. He started the countdown,
we jumped out and the wind carried me to the left. I let out
a big scream an floated down at 120 miles per hour with the camera
man directly infront of me about ten feet away, catching my every
expression. After a minute and a half of free fall my jump
master pulled the parachute at 5,000 ft. My whole body was jerked
to a halt and my legs flew up infront of me. And then I heard
the most beautiful thing. Silence. There was no sounds of passing
cars, people talking, cars honking, just the most peaceful silence
you'll ever hear. Before we pulled the parachute the wind was
blowing by me so fast that I couldn't even hear what my jumpmaster
was saying. We continued floating down very slowly for what
seemed like 5 minutes. It was time to make our landing. The land
was so gentle. We came straight down, not at an angle and just
about landed on our toes. I was in total shock when we were on
the ground. After a minute of not saying anything, I threw my arms
up in the air and shouted, "I did it." I thanked my jump master
and poised for a picture with my step-dad. To anyone who has
not done it and has the slightest desire to do it, I recommend it
100%. I can remember a couple of times when people have asked
me "What is the craziest thing you've ever done?" Well now I have
something to tell them. And what they say IS true. Once you do
it you'll want to do it again. I'm already planning to go go again
with my boyfriend and the friend that chickened out on me.
We'll see if she goes this time!

Would
like to lift my glass in respect to the 6 fellow skydivers who
died Sunday. May they forever have Blue Skies and Soft Landings.

Sharyn,
How
cool!! I did my first jump about 2 months ago. I'm
still in AFF training. I want to do a sunset dive SO bad. I think
it'd be so cool. Plus, I want to drift through a cloud, too.
You've done both!! I'm so jealous. When I get off of student status,
I AM going to do a sunset dive. And one day a "through cloud"
dive.
Keep on diving!
Blue Skies!
Gary.
