I Have about 100 jumps know and have been skydiving for about a year I was at the drop zone a while back and over heard someone say" Only skydivers know why the birds sing" This quote I found to describe the sport the best. Just thought I would pass it on.

My father was a paratrooper in the service, and has always talked about his experiences jumping out of airlplanes, so naturally, I've always wanted to try it. Well it took 33 years, but I finally did it. On August 29, 1996 I made my first jump tandem, and will never be the same. Due to lack of time and funds, I have yet to make a second jump. My plans are get my Level A this Spring, when the weather clears. I can not tell you what a wonderful experience it is, seems to be taking over my whole thought process lately!!! Unfortunatly, I am not getting alot of support from my family, they all think I have lost my mind. Well, if you have ever had the desire to skydive I say go for it. My motto: No Guts, No Glory!

I just wanted to tell you that I loved what you wrote about your AFF dives. I did a level-1 AFF and could afford to go no further. Reading your entries makes me want to sell every thing I own to do it again.

First AFF went awsome, I practiced 'dirt diving' for a couple of hours before, and it really paid off... After the first second or two after I left the plane, I relaxed and went through the PRCTs and I was all done by 8,000ft only 2,500 feet from whe re I dropped... I am definantly hooked, my step-dad has a small cessna and all the way home from the DZ I was trying to figure out all the places I could land if I wanted to and figuring out wind directions and approach directions etc. Skydiving is awe some!

On the first jump, I became catatonic when the jumpmaster said "go".... took a deep breath and let go. It was positively the HARDEST thing I've ever done. The second jump I was like "say go already!" See you someday in Blue Skies!

I made my first IAD on Sunday June 30, 1996 out by Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan Canada. “As I hang from the wing strut of a C-182 Cessna I look over my left shoulder and there's Rob about 8 inches from my face. I know the word he is about to say. GO! I let go... Two seconds? a half a second? one second? Some amount of time goes by. This is the moment I can not describe and still can't”. I now have 14 jumps and as the weather has sucked for the last month, we just received 4-5 inches of snow, I may not get a 15th. Here’s wish’in for Blue Skies!

Hey there, I'm only 17 right now, but I've wanted to skydive for a while now. I desperately want to save up enough money so that when I'm 18, I can immediately go out and get started! But I've heard it's addictive so I'm not going to start until I h ave the funds for as many jumps as I want. Thanks for your site. It provided me with a lot of useful information and I feel a lot more sure of my decision. Now all I have to do is get all my relatives and friends to try it along with me! :)

Just spent three weeks in Army Jump School at Fort Benning, Georgia! What a rush to step out of a C-141 at 130 Knots! Five jumps with no broken bones, but some pretty rough exits and landings with those round T-10C chutes. Was fun, but I think I'm g oing to try skydiving; seems like you guys have less abusive exits and softer landings! Take care. Ben
